Chess Summer Camp 2023
Our Instructor
Grand Master Mackenzie Molner A top US Grand Master with many nation titles to his name, including being the 2013 US Open Co-Champion and 3 time New Jersey State Champion. He has coached many state and national championship teams and players, even coaching the United States World Youth Team and a student to a World Championship. He has transitioned fully to coaching from playing and looks forward to helping bring up the New Jersey chess community where he grew up. |
Tuition: $300/week (need to enroll both weeks)
Beginner Camp
Pre-requisite: None
Date:Week 3 and week 4 (7/10 - 7/21) or Week 8 and Week 9 (8/14 - 8/25)
Time: 8:30 am - 1 pm

Intermediate Camp
Pre-requisite: students who have graduated from our Chess beginner's class or Pawn Class or USCF rating 200 - 400 or equivalent
Date:Week 3 and week 4 (7/10 - 7/21) or Week 8 and Week 9 (8/14 - 8/25)
Time: 8:30 am - 1 pm
Class Overview:
Students are expected to already know how the pieces move and know several basic checkmates. In the camp students will continue to learn new techniques and progress to more difficult checkmates and tactical patterns. We will learn an opening repertoire to use for the White and Black pieces to start out the game. We will also continue to learn about chess notation and tournament chess rules.
