This is our 4th year's Total Immersion Chinese Summer camp!
In the past three years, we have made great strides in building a great Language Environment for our campers to "acquire" the Chinese language in an Fun, Engaging and Immersive way! Kids have been really enjoying learning the Chinese language in a natural and fun way while their parents have seen great results from them. The success along with the reputation and word of mouths have empowered us to have 100% increase year over year in terms of total number of campers. Our summer camp is balanced with outdoor activities and indoor theme-based project-oriented learning and discussion. Each week, we have a theme which covers broad topics like Chinese American Community and Identity, Travel around the world, Cultures and Histories, Natural Wonders, Environments, Science and Technology, Arts, Performing arts, Sports etc. We want to help our campers to have a broader vision, to build stronger bodies, and to cultivate sunny and positive attitude by attending our summer camp. This year's summer camp, based on last two years' experiment, we will integrate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subjects in our theme-based weekly program by adding courses like bilingual Computer Programming, LEGO Robotics and Horrible Math etc as elective classes. Learning foreign language through STEM is the latest initiative in Foreign Language Teaching. STEM Subject's practicality and fun provide good and natural material in foreign language learning. In addition, we also offer Chinese Drama, Comic Skits and Singing classes as elective classes, so that children can pick and choose based on their interests and level of Chinese Language Skills. At the end of summer camp, we will host a large performance show so our kids can present what they have learnt in our summer camp. We also have Hard pen calligraphy and story creation elective classes to help our campers to go to the next level in their Chinese Language skills. |
